This is an ilustration i did for a group project in which i'm in. It's a sort of a Fanzine, and the theme for the ilustrations was Versions. We each had to do 3. This is one of them.
Hope you like it!

Note: used a Carmen Kass photo as a pose inspiration. Don't know who was the photographer.
On further inspection, when I stared at her feet I noticed that on her left leg (which appears on the right side of the image), the folds on the boot leading to her foot are too thick or more like they seem that way. And I think it's because of two reasons: they outline of them is too rounded -perhaps a small line slanted from the top of each one would help- and thepart of the crease behind the foot isn't defined as much.
But the reason I omitted this initially was because I put it your art style more than anything. So this little detail may or may not benefit in anyway.

Glad to see that my comment helped you out in some way
You know, I never knew that the chinese dress is the most common search result for "dress" on google. Hope you can find that file on your cd and I can understand about life being hectic. If you had messaged me earlier, you probably wouldn't of heard from me for awhile too.

You are right about that, it's a bit too big and rounded, taking in consideration the back part of the boot. If i find the file i'll try to correct that, and also the other leg. I always disliked the foot and part of the leg. They seem wrong to me.
And thanks for taking the time to comment and fav. I do appreaciate them.

This is kinda late but I'll comment anyway since this is one of the most original kabuki works I've seen on here so far.
When I saw Kabuki in the chinese style dress I first thought "wow, that's a concept I never thought of. Impressive." On later reflection, the socio-political implications of the dress is ..well...kinda scary.
Besides that, I'll elaborate on the impression that Black-Red-Escape had (because I had the same one) on the mask. It doesn't need folds and creases because that would make it look more like a face painted. I think that the cheekbone lines are too sharp and should me more of a cross-hatch or something similar. Also, you could add alittle shading at the bottom of the mask where it folds around her jaw-line. Adding a simple line or shaded traingle for the length on the nose would help alittle too. I think if you add those, it won't make it seem like a painted face but just make the mask pop-out more and seem more solid.

Well... i never actually thought of the implications of the dress.
I just liked the sketch i did of this one, better than the other dress options, and ended up going with this one. I didn't realise it was a chinese dress. I just googled for dress and a whole bunch of them appeared. i based myself on a few of them and then chose one. I was not trying to be political at all...
About the mask it's a good idea, but i'd have to find the file to change it. I saved it on a cd somewhere and can't seem to find it... Some day i'll try to fix that.
Thanks for commenting and faving. I do appreaciate the comments, even if i take quite some time to respond... Life's been hectic lately, haven't had any time to come online.
